+ HACK: Chnage your phone identity - Try "iPhone” on S60! |
02 May 2008
Change your phone identity!!
S60 browser goes iPhone!
As you may have already know, Nokia S60 browser is based on the same core with Ajax support just like the iPhone browser and it is expectable that both browsers interprets the web on the same way but it is not the case.
Mainly it happens because websites detects the phone model and change interface according to the device specification which results with completely different browsing experience on different devices. Following the huge popularity of the iPhone lot of web sites have created the special pages and pages designed for iPhone are easier to read and they are visually more pleasing.
Now let’s got to the point, someone has made quick software hack that switches user-agent, changes the S60 browser identity and force browser to introduce itself as an iPho... ..

| + SF Guide: How to hack N95’s News reader settings |
06 June 2007
New Tweak from SF team
Hack the N95’s News reader template!
As you may have already know, Nokia N95 runs S60 platform 3rd edition, Feature Pack 1 and it means that it comes with new improved Safari browser and improved RSS reader. Feed reader now supports the Atom format (in addition to RSS) and the browser renders feeds in html format.
Previously, feeds could only be viewed as short text only summaries while the new version is capable to process and show, images, full text and links in html format which is incomparable better solution, but... .. .
Unfortunately, the main layout/template isn’t as good as it should be and therefore whole concept doesn’t looks very well and we getting lot of complains related to the news reader.
Text size is simply too large and it makes feed really hard to use and not eye friendly. Even worse, feed rea... . . . .

1st and 2nd edition S60 phones
| + New tweak from SF team :: Icon package changing |
05 July 2005
Icon package changing,
detailed guide
As you may well already know, the Nokia 6600 was the first S60 device with theme support. It has the function/feature allowing you to choose a different icon/theme set to the one which is installed as standard.
This means that you can install for example some 3rd party theme like Crystallized. Then within this theme you can change the icon set to the default set should you prefer it rather than the icons supplied with the installed theme. You may also combine any of the installed themes with any available icon set.
For those of you who don’t know, it is possible to do this using the theme edit menu (Theme Manager / Option / Edit / Icon) in a very easy way.
Now you will probably think so what!?
Unfortunately all of the phones that came after the 6600, such as 7610, 6630, 6680, etc do not offer this opportunity.
I can’t figure out why Nokia decided to exclude this function from all of their phones after the 66.. ...

1st and 2nd edition S60 phones
| + OP logo, all about... |
03 March 2005
Operator logo, all about...
Learn how to setup or remove OP logo, manual or with some 3rd party application! But that's not all, like always we offer something more, here is the guide which will teach you how to make a transparent look like OP logo (something like transparent gif's logos on nokia s40 phones for example).
Well, you know, if you ever tried than you probably know that S60 phones dosen't support gif's as operator logo, they use bitmap image format without masking support, that means that operator logo looks very ugly on all complex backgrounds, in fact in all other backs apart from default/white one.
Also I've found solution how to make neutral "logo", which perfectly fits to any theme and which allow complet.. ...
