+ Nokia N93 -:- Huge user review

08 August 2006

Conclusion

What to say at the end, maybe I should mention that hardware reviewing is not my first occupation. I’m not the very talented and best writer on the world and mobile phones are just my hobby. Also English is not my first language and it is a big default in my review, I’m working intensively on it but still is not as good as it should be. My vocabulary is poor, grammar is terrible and you have to hear my pronunciation ;) But as you may have noticed already I gave my best to help making right decision.

N93 is undoubtedly an amazing phone over all; the list of build in features simply rocks, phone is big, probably the biggest phone on the market at the moment, it beats my N90 as well as the P910 by the weight and size but from another side, to be honest it is hard to pack all of these features into a smaller body.

In addition, I have to admit that all of my friends are impressed by the phone, most of them use dummy phones, but really good dummy phones, phones like Nokia 6280 or Samsung D600, but it does not matter, all of them claim that N93 is the better and powerful device. They ask about price, features, availability and they are really excited about it. I just want say that average S60 user with an older Series60 phone in the pocket will be completely impressed and satisfied with this phone, camera, recorder, display, speed and so on.

But as the power user I have to say that I’m a little bit disappointed, I expected much more from this phone, the most disappointing parts are camera possibilities, external display as well as the resolution on the inner display and last but not least not very well made case and not very well implemented laptop form factor, it is just not as good implemented as on N92 and it has some construction mishaps with putting the phone in the laptop form factor as well as in working with it.

However,, all other aspects of the phone are on the expected level or even above, it has rich connectivity options, TV out works just fine, phone is fast and powered with incredible good hardware that brings first taste of console gaming to the mobile phones. To add, the build in video recorder is amazing, the best video recorder in the mobile world but the main question is how often you really need it.

Okay, with such an amazing quality you will definitely use it a little bit more often than with some other phones which do not have features, such a good video recorder, but it still is not as often used as the camera. Do not get me wrong, there is no doubt that it is nice to have such a good recorder, I just want to say that I’d rather choose the extremely good camera possibilities like on N73 than the extremely good video recorder.

That’s it, I guess that 17 pages of the poor text (8 pages of html) is more than enough and I hope you like it.

BTW:
If I have missed something, or if you have any further questions, suggestions or just want to discuss it, feel free to reach me at our forum section, I’m available almost 24 hours per day so please don’t be hesitate to ask anything. I’m ready to answer every single question.

Cheers and best regards,
Teo
