| + Nokia Shipments Of Smart Phones Doubled in 2004 |
01 February 2005,
Nokia Corp. more than doubled its shipments of so-called smart phones to 12 million in 2004 from 2003, a spokesman said.
Nokia has invested heavily in developing smart phones, which can run sophisticated software and double as hand-held computers, in the hope of boosting its revenue and distinguishing itself from rivals.
Nokia CEO Jorma Ollila discusses the company's fourth-quarter improvement and what's ahead for the mobile-phones business.
• Products & Profits: Nokia's 6230 phone
But smart phones tend to be expensive and still account for less than 3% of the global cellphone market, according to new figures from research firm canalys.com Ltd.
Canalys, based in Reading, England, said the cellphone industry shipped 17.5 million smart phones in 2004, more than double the 8.2 million shipped in 2003. The total cellphone market grew 32% to 684 million units in 2004, according to figures published last week by Strategy Analytics of Newton Centre, Mass.
Nokia, based in Espoo, Finland, said earlier in the week that sales of its N-Gage games console, which can be used as a smart phone, had been disappointing, mainly because of weak sales in the U.S. But a company spokesman said Friday that smart-phone sales for the year had still exceeded Nokia's expectations due to strong demand for models with built-in cameras.
Canalys estimated that Nokia shipped 11.5 million smart phones in 2004, giving it a market share of 66%. Nokia has put far more emphasis on the smart-phone market than rivals, such as Motorola Inc. of Schaumburg, Ill., and Samsung Electronics Co. of Seoul. "They have been constantly launching new devices," said Chris Jones, an analyst with canalys. |

+ Network monitor for 6630 phone |
28 January 2005
Hi
After lot of request we decide to put Network monitor for 6630 phone (Network monitor is engineering menus which known form monochrome nokia's and can be activated on them with special soft and mbus cable) in our download section, with this application you can force phone to stay in 3G or GSM environment.
So if u have a phone with first firmware release (2.39.151) and don’t have menu options to choose network environment download this application go to 81.1 screen and chose prefer network.
Also if u a power user and u need to know more about your phone and network install this application and get all usually hidden information.
So be careful because u could do serious damage to your Phone
IMPORTANT:
This tool is not for newbie's or people with poor knowledge about GSM networks and protocols, especially if u will try function apart form 81.1 or any other exucutable display or even worst if u try this soft on non 3G phone (symbian phones OS6 and 7)
DISCLAIMER:
We are not owners of this soft and we provide them for free because we cant find any source about soft owner and copyright, so if u are respective owners or u know who is it please contact us and if the soft not freeware we will promptly remove them from download section.

Get the soft here
Once again be careful, use this soft use at your own risk, Symbian freak team and this site cant take any responsibility if you damage your phone.

| + Lasco.A ( SymbOS/Lasco.A, EPOC/Lasco.A) latest virus on Series 60 |
10 January 2005

Lasco.A is a bluetooth using worm and SIS file infecting virus that runs in Symbian mobile phones that support Series 60 platform.
Lasco.A replicates over bluetooth connections and arrives to phone messaging inbox as velasco. sis file that contains the worm. When user clicks the velasco.sis and chooses to install the velasco. sis file the worm activates and starts looking for new devices to infect over bluetooth.
When Lasco worm finds another bluetooth device it will start sending copies of velasco.sis file to it, as long as the target phone is in range. Like Cabir.H,Lasco.A is capable of finding a new target, after the first one has gone out of range.
In addition of sending itself over bluetooth the Lasco.A is also capable of replicating by inserting itself into other SIS files found in the device. Then if such Lasco.A infected SIS files are copied into another device, Lasco.A install will start inside the first installation task, asking user whether to install Velasco. |
