Take Touch Beyond The Screen:
Nokia Launches New NFC Microsite

If you've been reading this blog for awhile, you may remember back in August I posted a little article about the global launch event in Hong Kong and cited Ilari Nurmi, a vice-president of Nokia, who said that company is planning to aggressively promote the NFC technology and what is even more important promised that same technology will be embedded in all smartphones and accessories in Future.

To further illustrates company's commitment to promoting NFC technology, Nokia has produced a new NFC oriented microsite to help consumers understand the benefits of near field communication.

The just released website is a basically place where you can find answers on common questions regarding the near filed comunication technology such as Share (Pictures, videos and contacts between phones); Pair (your phone with other devices such as headphones and speakers); Tag (interactive hotspots for more information and content); and also includes a list of Nokia NFC ebaled smartphones and accessories.

NFC

Based on a short-range wireless connectivity, NFC hardware is activated by bringing two NFC compatible devices or tags within a few centimeters from one another or literally touching them together.

NFC is compatible with the existing contactless reader infrastructure that is used daily by millions of people and devices worldwide. The native NFC functionality in the phone can access existing services by reading service shortcuts from NFC tags. For those of you, who are into details, here is a link to the Forum Nokia NFC Wiki, with all the details you need about how to get started with NFC in your own projects.
