+ Ovi Suite Gets Minor Performance Improvements

29 April 2011

New Version (3.1.0.81)
Of Nokia Ovi Suite Now Available

Nokia Ovi SuiteHere’s just a quick heads-up to let you know that an latest update to Nokia Ovi Suite (v3.1.0.81) is now available for download at Nokia Beta Labs.

According to short bulletin of changes issued by the Nokia Ovi Suite team, latest version of the Ovi Suite improves features and performance, updated applications and increase overall stability.

Downloading apps, games, and more from Ovi Store is now even simpler. When you choose to download something from Ovi Store through Nokia Ovi Suite, the direct link to the selected item is sent to your phone. You can then go on to download the item using your phone. There's no need to open a web browser on your desktop anymore.

Viewing the results of your latest sync is now possible in the Sync log view. In this view, you can see all the details that were added, updated or deleted and where each of these changes took place.

Updating your phone software and mobile apps takes place more easily. Now, you can update both in one go. Sending text messages to groups is now possible. You can create contact groups in the Contacts view and easily send messages to all the members of a specific group in the Messaging view.

Playing high-definition videos captured with your phone takes place in a more optimised and smooth way. Keeping track of your map downloads is easy. Click Downloads in the Maps view to view your download queue.

You can download installation package directly from Nokia Ovi Suite's Beta Labs download page (requires account). They are also planning to start offering as update for existing users during next week, so if you currently have Nokia Ovi Suite installed you will receive update notification with the next couple of days and update it regularly without need to create account over at Beta Labs.

With Nokia Ovi Suite 3 you can easily shuttle multiple content types between your device and computer; register for Ovi services and upload photos or download maps for free; and update your Nokia device with the latest software.

Nokia Ovi Suite 3.0 has gone through private alpha testing here in Nokia Beta Labs for about a month now, and we are finally ready to raise the curtain for all of you. We have been working hard to improve the quality of Nokia Ovi Suite, for example stability, syncing and the experience with downloading maps. Installation and first-time use have been optimized to reduce the steps needed to take Nokia Ovi Suite in use. We have also introduced a new Home view, and integrated our music experience with the millions of tracks available on Ovi Music even more closely to Nokia Ovi Suite.
