Angry Birds Rio Now Available For
Symbian^3 Users Via The Nokia Ovi Store

Angry Birds Rio Are you an Angry Birds freak that plays on your Symbian^3 powered device? If so, I have some interesting news for you!

Not long after Angry Birds St. Patrick's Day Edition release generated a lot of buzz, latest version of this supremely addicting smartphone game is now available in the Nokia Ovi Store for Symbian^3 devices for as little as $1.99.

Rovio and 20th Century Fox together bring us a new adventure to Brazil in RIO De Janerio where Angry Birds will fight against a group of animal smugglers.

In the game Angry Birds Rio, the original Angry Birds are kidnapped and taken to Rio themselves, where they eventually escape their captors and set out to save their friends, Blu and Jewel.

The main reason for the lack of pigs is that the game is based on the upcoming film RIO from Twentieth Century Fox, which incidentally comes out in theaters on April 15. The game was developed in conjunction with the film company and as such will feature the animated birds (Blu and Jewel) from the film.

However, the premise of the game is similar in that you need to catapult your way across two episodes and 60 levels saving your bird friends and taking out monkeys along the way. There is also supposed to be plenty of new achievements and unlockable secrets for you to find.

Angry Birds Rio features:

  • Two fantastic episodes – Smugglers DEN & Jungle ESCAPE with 60 exciting levels!
  • Completely new achievements!
  • Special Hidden fruits!
  • Put your Angry Birds skills to the ultimate test in a spectacular boss fight!
  • New more episodes are coming throughout 2011! – In May, July, October & November

Graphically the game will be an improvement over the original, though as with Angry Birds Seasons, some of the older Android phones could potentially lag on certain levels if lots of action is going on.

Fox is the first Hollywood studio allowed to tap into the global success of Angry Birds, from Finnish company Rovio. The marketing partnership was revealed at a press junket on the Fox lot, after footage from the pic -- with a voice cast led by Jesse Eisenberg and Anne Hathaway -- was shown.

On the other hand, RIO just got an gorgeous Website for itself to tell us a story which we assume coming as a Cinema at April 15th from the creators of Ice Age.

Rio, from Fox and Blue Sky Studios, tells the story of a domesticated Macaw named Blu who never learned how to fly and lives in Minnesota with his loving and doting owner. The last male of his species, Blu is convinced to go to Rio to mate with his female counterpart. But he and Jewel are kidnapped and a great adventure ensues.

From the makers of the hit ICE AGE series comes RIO, a comedy adventure about talking a walk on the wild side. blu is a domesticated Macaw who never learned to fly, living a comfortable life with his owner and best friend linda in the small town of Moose Lake, Minnesota. Blu and Linda think he’s the last of his kind, but when they learn about another Macaw who lives in Rio De Janerio, they head to the faraway and exotic land to find jewel, Blu’s female counterpart.

Not long after they arrive, Blu and Jewel are kidnapped by a group bungling animal smugglers. With the help of street smart jewel, and a group of wise cracking and smooth talking city birds, Blu escapes. Now, with his new friends by his side, Blu will have to find the courage to learn to fly, thwart the kidnappers who are hot on their trail, and return to Linda, the best friend a bird ever had.
