Nokia Diagnostics Now Available
For Beta Testing On Symbian^3 Devices
Nokia Diagnostics beta for Symbian^3 devices has now been released. The S^3 version contains the same set of tests as the S60 5.0 version.
Application requires the latest firmware so you'll need to update your phone (Nokia N8, C7 or C6-01) from PR1.0 to PR1.1 or the application doesn't install. If you lucky Nokia E7 owner you don't need to worry about because application will works just fine without firmware update.
The main intention behind creating this experimental software is to create a solution for helping millions of Nokia users diagnose, troubleshoot, and configure their devices with ease on their own.
The new version contains more extensive set of tests to help you to figure out where the problem may be. New version also contains the advanced mode functionality for techie users and possibility to run all tests or all subcategory of tests. The look and feel has also been improved.
Beta lab’s developers believe that exposing this idea to the Beta Labs community and sharing this application prototype would help them realise just that.
Version for Symbian^3 users will be released soon. To focus efforts on creating a better product rather than maintain a wide range of compatible devices, they decided to discontinue to update the 3.2 version.
New version contains following tests:
- Vibrating alert
- Memory
- Battery charger
- Memory card
- Cameras
- Keypad
- Screen
- USB cable
- Web browser
- Network coverage
- Data coverage
- GPS
- Earpiece
- Microphone
- Loudspeaker
- Headset
We do recommend you to check that your device is running the latest software before trying it out since some older device software versions can potentially cause undesirable behavior.
