Gig Finder Gets Support For More Countries, Updated Look & Feel And A Few New Features

Following the great feedback submitted by the Beta Labs community, Gig Finder team have created a new release of Gig Finder that address most of the bugs reported by users, updates the look & feel, adds a few new features.

Also, since the previous Gig Finder beta they have been working hard to extend the availability of the app to more countries and today’s beta release of Gig Finder now includes gig information for 18 countries: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland and Spain.

Furthermore the application is now completly compatible with all Symbian^3, S60 5th edition, and S60 3rd Edition FP2 devices.

Gig Finder lets you search for concerts / live music entertainment, purchase tickets directly from your mobile, and get relevant recommendations based on your music tastes and location.

With this beta release of Gig Finder you can:

• Improved: Get gig recommendations based on your music taste and location.
• Search for concerts by artist, genre, city, venue and dates
• Add artists to your music profile to be notified when they play concerts near you
• Find where to buy tickets and compare prices
• Get directions to the venue using Ovi Maps
• New: Preview tracks from that artist or go through to Ovi Music to purchase songs
• Improved: Invite your friends using Facebook, SMS or e-mail (Selecting Facebook friends from within the app was a requested feature)
• New: Artist page with information about upcoming events & most popular music tracks
• New:  Ability to manually change the location used to recommend Gigs (This was another requested feature)

Gig Finder allows you to quickly find the best live shows, concerts & other music events through adaptive algorithm that sorts the huge selection of live music and filter results by artist, genre, city, venue, specific date, date range or a combination of any.

It also acts as your personal guide to best live music in your area by providing recommendations for live events and venues based on your music tastes (profile & on device music library) and locations.

Once you discover the even that best fits your mood, application offers direct links to various ticket vendors to conveniently find the best seats & prices. You can also see where the event is and how to get there with a direct link from Maps. * Start the Buzz. Share information about the gig to Facebook, SMS, or Email.

Last but not the least, events link directly to the artist pages in Nokia Music Store / Ovi Music (when available in your country) so you can preview or download music before or after seeing your favourite artists live.

Gig Finder is in early growth stages but it continuing to add to the database by crawling the various sources looking for live music.
