PUSH Nokia N8 Project Submission Deadline Extended!
As you may have already know, the first Push project began way back in September 2009 when the Nokia finally took the wraps off its super-secret PUSH N900 project, with hopes to keep the excitement around its first Linux based smartphone alive by encouraging its developer base to use it in the most creative way possible.
PUSH is all about taking ideas and ingenuity to their limits, its main intention is to give designers, hackers, modders, creatives and artists the chance to get their hands on, and heads inside, the hottest Nokia devices such as Nokia N8.
The Push team have just extended the submission deadline to give you a chance of winning a limited edition prototype, Nokia N8 devices to work with the prototype and also $1000 to bring your creation to life.
So what would you do if you were one of the first people in the world to get hold of one of these prototypes? All you need to do is submit an idea for the short film, event, show or Push moment you would create using one of these hacks. Four winners for each prototype will be chosen and rewarded with not only one of the prototypes but also a Nokia N8 and $1000 of funding to Push your idea.
Pushing the limits of activities like kite aerial photography and skateboarding almost certainly means putting the device in some potentially risky conditions: you know, like being suspended in the elements hundreds of feet above ground, or crammed deep in a pocket absorbing the impact of body hitting pavement.
Push KAPing stands for Kite Aerial Photography. By using two Nokia N8s that communicate with one another, film makers can now fly one from a kite rig whilst using another on the ground to not only see, but also control exactly what is being shot in HD from above.
Now, we all love Tony Hawk’s Skateboarding console games and the introduction of the skateboard peripheral controller from the last instalment, but it’s still just a game like Guitar Hero is to a real life rock band. Push Skating takes the world of skating games away from the console and back to the streets by allowing skaters’ boards to communicate with their N8 to score every single little move they make.
Want to win a prototype?
Of course you do, it doesn’t get any more limited edition than a prototype now, does it? Conveniently, Push are giving away 4 of each. You’ve watched the videos, you know the standards, now Push want to know what you would do with either.
Check out nokia.com/push where you can submit your ideas for a chance to win one of the prototypes, as well as a Nokia device to use with it, and funding up to $1,000 to bring your idea to life.
