Minor Firmware Update For
Nokia N97 Available As FOTA Update!
I just wanted to give everyone a quick heads up that Nokia has rolled out yet another firmware update for its flagship Symbian smartphone.
Latest firmware update for Nokia N97 is now available as 4.3 MB large FOTA update and is expected to be available through Nokia Software Updater shortly for most of the generic product codes from EMEA and APAC region and should be available for the rest of the world as well as for NAM and branded devices shortly.
According to pretty short bulletin of the changes issued by Nokia, firmware v21 brings minor improvements; default auto-rotate is now set to ON by default, mass memory content is updated (applies to new production only), OviSuite 2.0 + OviPlayer installation files preloaded, preloaded Maps data updated to version #23. Last but not the least, it also updates Ovi Maps application to latest version (3.03).
Oh yes, one more thing, Nokia N97 comes with UDP support but it is anyway highly suggestible to back up your phone memory before performing a firmware update as precaution measure in case something goes wrong.
To automatically receive the latest application and firmware update suggestions directly to your Nokia N97 Over The Air, just go to Applications > Software Update. This software release should be also available for updating with a PC and the Nokia Software Updater: www.nokia.com/softwareupdates.
Process of downloading and updating firmware Over The Air shouldn't take too long and cost you too much. Nokia provides this software free of charge. However, costs for downloading may be charged by your network operator or service provider. Please contact them for information about pricing.
