+ Nokia N86 Explore: New Exhibition Opens @ Heathrow T5

26 February 2010

'Nokia N86 Explore'
New Exhibition Opens @ Heathrow T5

Nokia N86 Explore If you live in or around the London area you’ll have a chance to check out the huge, new exhibition at Heathrow Terminal 5 sponsored by Heathrow / BAA, Nokia and Skyline Whitespace.

This exhibition compares two very different cities Mumbai and Dubai, it will feature what I believe will be the world’s largest printed mobile phone image and will be a show case of the creative and technical capabilities of Nokia’s best camera phone. The images were created by stitching many separate mobile phone shots together to produce these extraordinary panoramic Images.

The ‘Nokia N86 Explore' project set out to capture the essence and vitality of this two cities, Dubai and Mumbai using the Nokia N86 8MP. The two cities turned out to be very different; Dubai was a showcase of extraordinary buildings, from the 800 metre Burj Dubai to the iconic Burj Arab this city is out to impress.

The man made beaches and extraordinary hotels and these parks create a world designed to turn reality into fantasy. Sun, sand, water and the amazing architecture that has set out to tame these elements are the aspects of Dubai I found fascinating.

Mumbai on the other hand is very real, an extraordinary vibrant city driven by the resilience, ingenuity and incredible good nature of a people who live for the most part in poverty.

Their culture is out in the open - the streets and sidewalks are the pulse of a city full of activity and noise, often serving as both home and work place. This is a unique and colourful city whose apparent chaos seems somehow to work, its greatest asset its friendly people.

Both cities featured a wide variety of lighting conditions that would have tested any dedicated digital camera - the images shown in this exhibition who just how the Nokia N86 8Ml’ met the challenge.

The exhibition would not have been possible without the support of the sponsors; Heathrow, Nokia and Skyline Whitespace. Official opening is on Tuesday the 2nd of March.
