+ New Performance Improvements To Ovi Maps

New Ovi Maps Beta (v3.04)
Brings Extensive Performance Improvements

The good folks over at Nokia Beta labs have just introduced new Beta version of the Ovi Maps.

With the Ovi MapsBeta (v3.04) exploring new places and getting to your destination is easier and faster than ever. This new Beta release is all about performance improvement.

What's different from the previous release (v3.03)?

They have made a few tweaks to improve the performance of Ovi Maps:

  • Improved positioning speed and accuracy
  • Map zooming with faster speed
  • Improved search for cities with zoom out to city level

To get the latest map data, it's recommend to use Map Loader. It will detect which version of maps you have and update accordingly. Just follow the on-screen instructions.

Ovi Maps for web is compatible with all desktop browsers. For the full experience, including 3D maps, we recommend the following browsers:

- Internet Explorer 7 and 8
- Mozilla Firefox 3.0 and 3.5
