Wishes You a Happy New Year 2010!

Time has gone by very fast this year, a lot has happened in 2009, and a lot is going to happen in 2010!

We can look back on a very cool Symbian/Maemo-year 2009, which was marked by few new more or less dissapointing devices devices but also with an uphill battle against well entrenched rivals such as Microsoft and its Windows Mobile, Linux based LiMo platform, and especially against newcomers such as Google's Open Source Android OS and Apple’s iPhone, not to mention Research In Motion which is here since the beginning and keeping the pressure on too.

In response to this growing competition within the mobile business, Nokia released something that market has been waiting for a years! Nokia N900 is probably the most ingenuous and powerful combination of software and hardware that they have ever created, it's company's first smartphone running Linux-based Maemo platform, a real game-changer that will help Nokia to finally turn the tide of smartphone war in their favour and control the mobile market again and there is no doubt that 2010 is going to be a very exciting year for mobile industry as well as for the end users!

Symbian as well as Maemo Freak kept on growing, it keeps getting more and more noticed, Symbian/Maemo Freak Forum has reached over 137717 members registered at the forum making it one of the most popular Symbian related boards on the net, what a nice way to bring in the New Year!

Maybe we are still very small in comparison to many other mobile related forums/sites but considering our very strict Symbian thematic and strong antiwarez politic, in the relatively short amount of time, we have met the basic goal we had, to make this site a place where everyone is welcome as well as a place where people will hang out and enjoy.

This is also a really good occasion to thank all of our very active members, each and every one of you who have done remarkably a lot to make this site stand where it is today and not be just a dream broken very soon. We promise you that SF will only become bigger and better and we are open for suggestion's, from you so if you have an idea and/or suggestion, please feel free to share with us in our site comments section of the forum, all suggestions would be read by the SF team.

I would like it if everyone could give some likings and dislikings, why you like this site or why you don’t, where we are doing good, where we need to improve, your experience here and whatever you think you can share.

Please continue to spread the word if you like our board and different approach that has been taken here. As the community grows larger it becomes more valuable to each and every member that visits, we'll reach 150k mebers in next few months and I can't wait to see what the next 150,000 members will bring here.
