Sharing Gets More Personal With
The Latest Qik Update For S60 Devices
Qik, the leading live mobile video streaming platform, today announced their latest cooperation with Nokia, the world's largest mobile device manufacturer.
This Symbian client update (version 1.0.14) enables you to sign-up/sign-in using Facebook Connect and share your videos directly to your contacts on the phone with a cool, new Speed Sharing Ribbon.
If you are a new user or if you have signed up for Qik using Facebook Connect on qik.com, you can now connect your Facebook account right from your phone. Simply click the “Login As” field in the signup form and select Facebook Connect.
This will walk you through the process of connecting your Facebook account to Qik. Then when you start Qikking just press Share and select Facebook to post the video directly to your wall.
Share with your phone contacts with the Speed Sharing Ribbon: The Qik Speed Sharing Ribbon makes it fast and easy to share your experiences with your friends and family from the phone.
You can now create shortcuts to select contacts from your phone address book and place those shortcuts on the Speed Sharing Ribbon that appears in the bottom of the screen when you press Share.
Then next time you start Qikking all you need to do is press Share and double tap the contact and an SMS / email will be sent to the person with the link to the video that they can then view from their phone just by clicking the link.
It is now even easier to start recording and sharing: We are always looking at ways to make it easier to get you streaming and sharing your videos. With this update you can now:
- Start / Stop recording by pressing the Camera button.
- Zoom in / out by pressing the volume keys on the phone.
- For those who are using our integration with Brightcove – now you can share the Qiks to your Brightcove account right from your phone.
You can download this update from http://d.qik.com on your phone or by starting Qik and following the update prompts.
