Company's First Capacitive
Touchscreen Device
Gets New Promo Video
I just came across new commercial for the first Nokia’s device equipped with capacitive screen and I thought I'd share it with you.
It is a short promo video that highlights some of the key points of this nice looking and clever little phone that will be initially only available in combination with "Comes With Music" service but its cheaper variant with 16 GB of build in memory and without CWM offering should be available from around the end of the year.
Beside the capacitive technology, 32 GB of build in flash memory, 5 MPX camera, Carl Zeiss optics, dual LED flash, TV-out, and 35 hours of music playback Nokia X6 also brings fresh design and more exciting outfit.
Unfortunately phone is based on the pretty much the same hardware architecture as its predecessor and is equipped with a bit outdate ARM 11 processor specified clock speed of 433.9MHz supported with only 128 MB of RAM although user experience has proven it is not enough to properly run 5th edition UI.
The Nokia X6 also features an improved and widgetized homescreen that brings 20 friends and virtual communities, like Facebook, to your homescreen and includes 3 games, Spore by EA, Asphalt IV and DJ Mix Tour by Gameloft.
Jo Harlow, Vice President, Nokia, commented: "The Nokia X6 and Comes With Music is a powerful combination, enabling music fans to download all the music they could ever want - quickly, easily and for free. We're giving people convenient access to and ownership of a vast music library and an exciting new touchscreen device to play their music on.
Nokia X6
The Nokia X6 has an estimated retail price of EUR 450, before taxes and subsidies, and will be shipped during the fourth quarter of 2009. The availability and pricing of cheaper X6 variant gets leaked by Expansys which online shop now lists the 32GB version at £529.99 for release on 12 November, while the 16GB, non-Comes With Music edition appears to be on hold until 23 February next year, with a cheaper price tag of £344.99.
As of now, cheaper variant of X6 isn't confirmed by any official sources whatsoever, good ol' Expansys never fails to let us down when it comes to getting a guideline on price and date deets.
