The Comes With Music Story Continues With Company's First Capacitive Touch Screen Device
Nokia announced its first full touchscreen device with capacitive screen in Stuttgart this morning, which will be only available in combination with "Comes With Music" service that offers a full year of unlimited music downloads.
Beside the capacitive technology, 32 GB of build in flash memory, 5 MPX camera, Carl Zeiss optics, dual LED flash, TV-out, and 35 hours of music playback Nokia X6 also brings fresh design and more exciting outfit.
Unfortunately phone is based on the pretty much the same hardware architecture as its predecessor and is equipped with a bit outdate ARM 11 processor specified clock speed of 433.9MHz supported with only 128 MB of RAM although user experience has proven it is not enough to properly run 5th edition UI.
The Nokia X6 also features an improved and widgetized homescreen that brings 20 friends and virtual communities, like Facebook, to your homescreen and includes 3 games, Spore by EA, Asphalt IV and DJ Mix Tour by Gameloft.
Jo Harlow, Vice President, Nokia, commented: "The Nokia X6 and Comes With Music is a powerful combination, enabling music fans to download all the music they could ever want - quickly, easily and for free. We're giving people convenient access to and ownership of a vast music library and an exciting new touchscreen device to play their music on."
UPDATE:
Well, Nokia claims it is not capacitive and I just can't realize how they managed to put resistive screen behind the glass! I mean, according to X6 specifications it has: "3.2' touchscreen, made from scratch resistant glass". Or it is not glass after all!?
Nokia X6 uses resistive touch screen technology. Our consumer research showed that many consumers preferred a device they can type on while walking around and in various mobile usage situations.
Resistive screens don't require as great precision in interaction and are highly suitable for such scenarios. Text input is key for a social internet experience. The resistive screen enables the optional use of a stylus for handwriting recognition, which is considered as a plus in several Asian markets and gives additional options to 3rd party developers Consumers can choose between stylus for Asian languages or QWERTY keyboard.

UPDATE 2:
Apoparently I have right and it has capacitive screen, Nokia gave wrong info to us but has corrected it now.
"Pahoittelen, annoin sinulle kiireen keskellä aivan väärää tietoa. Nokia
X6-musiikkilaitteessa todellakin on kapasitiivinen näyttö."
It's in Finnish, but it says that he's sorry that he gave wrong info and
Nokia X6 really does have capacitive screen.
Especially thanks to Markus for the heads up!!
Nokia X6 Hands On
