New Ovi Maps Beta Nokia announced today the new Beta version of Ovi Maps for S60 5th Edition (touch devices) at Nokia World 09 in Stuttgart. The key news is the starting screen giving you one touch access to a variety of new content and services.

Whether you are exploring a city on foot, hitting the road driving, planning a trip or just want to get the best out of a new destination, Ovi Maps is always at your fingertips on your mobile and your PC/Mac. Pre-plan your trip at maps.ovi.comand sync with Maps on your mobile to take it on the go with you.

Now it’s more fun than ever! You’re only one touch away from your favourite content and services – easily find your position and all the places you’re looking for, save them as your favourites and get to them.

Traveling and looking for great places to visit? Lonely Planet and Michelin offer you dynamic access to the best and most relevant editorial travel content. Find thousands of listings for sights, restaurants, hotels, shops, nightlife and more, look them up on the map and get to them with Walk and Drive navigation, it’s all seamlessly integrated by the power of Ovi.

All these services focus on your current location and nearby surroundings. My Position looks for your location and shows it on the map. Find places lets you search easily for cities, addresses and places with the new one-box search. Favourites allows you to save your personal map objects such as places and routes. Sign in with your Ovi account and synchronise your favourite places with Ovi to make your maps.ovi.com experience more personal. You can also synchronise your map objects from maps.ovi.com back to Maps on your device.

Our popular car navigation service, Drive, with voice and visual instructions, lane assistance and speed limit warners, comes now with text-to-speech feature for voice guidance including street names during navigation.
