Impressive 25 Minutes Long Preview
Of The Sony Ericsson's 12 MPX Smartphone
They lucky folks from Youser blog have managed to get hands on some of the hottest Sony Ericsson phones including the preproduction model of the first company's devices based on the Nokia S60 platform and produce an impressive video review that totally worth 25 minutes of your time!
The first part of their Satio review is focused on the body, the main menu and the 12 MPX camera, while the
second and third part
part features the internet usage, browser, main menu and the entertainment.
Anyway, as most of you have already know, Satio is the official name for the Idou prototype that the Swedish-Japanese joint venture announced back in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress 2009.
Satio is company's first in several categories, it is the first Sony Ericsson 12 megapixel camera phone, the first one that will be powered with Nokia's S60 platform and ultimately, the first all-in-one device that will (hopefully) "help return the company to profitability" and "revolutionise" the mobile phone gaming and audio experience by merging the communication and entertainment.
Satio is designed to be the ultimate camera smartphone but it's more than just Megapixels monster that makes this cute SE's creature definitely a phone to be reckoned with!
It is features reach Smartphone equipped with Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G, HSDPA and is also confirmed to be powered same Texas’s OMAP chipset as the Samsung’s Omnia HD or Palm Pre.

They have also uploaded set of the photos taken with a reviewed prototype of the Sony Ericsson Satio, the new 12 MPX beast from SE and the whole set is available on their flickr account.

Great PowerVR SGX 2D/3D GPU from Imagination Technology incorporated into even greater Texas Instrument’s OMAP 3 together with the fully programmable VGP vertex processor core, FPU (floating point unit) and Superscalar 600-800 MHz ARM Cortex-A8 RISC core giving it at least 3 times better graphic performance over the conventional ARM11 processors that Nokia uses in their touch devices, Nokia 5800 XM as well as Nokia N97.
It also supports advanced OpenGL ES 2.0 shader-based graphics and is capable to provide superior graphics performance and advanced user interface capabilities and significantly improved gaming experience.
Sony Ericsson is well known by its good camera phones and extremely bad video recording capabilities but I hope it will be changed with Satio as it is powerful enough even to process the high definition video.
It is expected to be available during the Q4 and it will be available for free on £35 per month contracts with all the UK's mobile phone operators and on paper Satio is definitely a phone to be reckoned with!
