To Grow of its Range of Mobile VoIP Solutions
REVE Systems, a VoIP solution provider, has joined the Symbian Foundation to partner and support the growth of mobile VoIP solutions.
By becoming a Symbian member, REVE Systems hopes to ensure further close integration of its VoIP solutions with mobile phones based on Symbian OS. REVE Systems is also a Symbian Network Partner Company.
As a Symbian member, REVE hopes to extend the convenience of its winning mobile environment VoIP offerings by providing enhanced new features.
At the same time, the company, which has several innovative solutions in the field of VoIP billing, Switches, and VPN for the telecom and IP telephony industries, hopes to build on its mobile strategy further by offering useful, value-added new applications.
The Symbian Foundation, together with its ecosystem, is creating the most proven, open and complete mobile software platform. The platform is based on Symbian OS and software assets contributed by Nokia, NTT DOCOMO, and Sony Ericsson, including the S60 and MOAP(S) user interfaces. Portions of the source code are already being moved to open source, under the Eclipse Public License. By mid-2010, this process will be complete.
As a member of the Symbian Foundation, REVE Systems gains the immediate right to license the Symbian Foundation platform, royalty free and without source code fees; to participate in working groups and in the governance of the foundation; and to participate in joint marketing and branding campaigns.
“The Symbian Foundation helps bring more innovations in the already dynamic mobile phone industry and in the mobile application development space. We are happy to partner with the foundation to combine our technology with this platform, to offer more features in our mobile VoIP offerings, across multiple handset types and service providers,” says M.
