+ Nokia N85 and Nokia N86 Get The Firmware Update

06 July 2009

Nokia Rolled Out New Firmware
Updates For Nokia N85 and Nokia N86

FOTAIt seems to have been a busy couple of days for the members of Nokia Software Updater team.

In addition to the highly-anticipated first firmware update for company's flagship Smartphone, Nokia also released an update to bunch of other S60 devices during the last couple of days including the Nokia N96, Nokia E55, Nokia E63, Nokia E66, Nokia E71 and now they just rolled out new software for the Nokia N85 (v30.019) and first firmware update for the Nokia N86, FW v11.043.

As you would imagine, the firmware update is always recommended because it usually improves the performance and reliability of your phone but there are times when it's smarter to wait before taking such step and this is one of them.

Now it is obviously that Nokia races to fix a critical platform security flaw that lets users bypass all restrictions and get an unlimited access to caged directories.

Unfortunately there is no detailed change log at the moment but according to early reports, first firmware update (v11.043) for Nokia N86 fixes several known issues, brings dozens of minor bug fixes, further optimizes functionality and stability of the phone across many applications and adds OVI store client application.
