Nokia today released a new beta version of Nokia Ovi Suite, the free desktop application that keeps your Nokia device and computer fully in sync.

With Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 you can easily shuttle multiple content types between your device and computer; register for Ovi services and upload photos or download maps for free; and update your Nokia device with the latest software.

Designed using Nokia’s Qt cross-platform application and UI framework, Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 brings together only the essential features from Nokia’s past and present desktop applications.

The result is a refreshingly elegant, slim and fast piece of software that is a pleasure to use.In due time, when Nokia Ovi Suite is ready to cater to the essential needs of all Nokia desktop software users, the application will replace the all popular Nokia PC Suite. Until then Nokia PC Suite continues to exist alongside its next-generation cousin.

Designed from a clean slate, Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 offers a new, more user-friendly approach to Nokia PC software. The application is refreshingly limited, slim, and fast. The completely new user interface gives you easy access to your important files and information as all the functionalities are available within one window.

Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 is intended as the only computer application you will need from Nokia. It will eventually replace the current Nokia PC Suite and its variants like Nokia Ovi Suite 1.x and Nokia Nseries PC Suite. Nokia Ovi Suite integrates also the main features from Nokia Photos, Nokia Software updater and Nokia Map loader.

Compatibility and system requirements

Nokia device: Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 supports over 100 different Nokia S60 and S40 devices with more being added all the time. It should work on all Nokia devices based on S60 3rd Edition, S60 5th Edition, or S40 6.1 or newer.

PC: Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 Beta supports Windows Vista SP1 or newer and Windows XP SP2 or newer. We have also tested Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 Beta with Windows 7 RC release and we plan to support Windows 7 when commercially available. System requirements:
