+ Krusell's TOP-10 Mobile Phones for May 2009

06 June 2009

Weekend Reading:
Krusell's TOP-10 Sales Chart for May

toptenThe Swedish manufacturer of carrying cases for portable electronics, Krusell, has released their "Top 10"-list for the last month.

As usually, the list is based on number of pieces of model specific mobile and smart phone cases ordered from Krusell during May 2009. Krusell's list is unique due to the fact that it reflects the sales of phones on six continents and in more than 50 countries around the globe.

Nokia's first mass-market full touchscreen device showed an impressive rise from eight position in March to the first position in may which again proves a strong demand for touch screen devices.

Beside Nokia 5800, there are three more touch devices on the list, Samsung’s Omnia, HTC Touch HD and Sony Ericsson Xperia on a disappointing last position but despite market's growing need for touch devices Apple’s iPhone obviously losing its touch with consumers and is pushed out of Krusell's top 10 list for a couple months now.

"Grand slam for Nokia at Krusell’s top 10 list for May. Nokia is taking all three top positions at Krusell’s best seller list for May. Nokia has been very strong in this rather weak market that we have seen over the past months," Ulf Sandberg MD at Krusell says.

"This month they are taking six out of ten positions, for which we need to lift our hat. It is rather surprising that they are as successful with high end devices compared to the mid- and low end brands on our list. I guess it reflects all consumers need for good protection of their precious mobile device."

Nokia 5800 XM is now at number one from third place last month, while Windows mobile based Samsung’s Omnia had an inverse fate, falling to fourth place from the second place last month as well as HTC Touch HD which falls to sixth position.

Sony Ericsson devices have pushed their way into the top 10 list again, which puts Japanese-Swedish joint venture on the 2nd place before the Samsung and HTC that are represented with only one device but all of them are still far behind the Nokia that clearly leads with amazing 6 device on the Krusell's including the Nokia 5800 on the first position and two dummy devices on the 2nd and 3rd position
