The BBC's On-Demand TV Service,
Officially Available on N95 and Other FP1 Devices
As you may or may not know, BBC has recently released their iPlayer exclusively for Nokia S60 FP2 device which allows you to watch many of the BBC shows on the web.
Unfortunately, BBC does not allow users outside the UK to watch these shows so I can’t even test it but according to post over at forum section (10X Voodoomox) BBC's on-demand TV service is now officially available for an older 3rd edition devices with widget support such as Nokia N95.
From today, you'll be able to run the BBC's iPlayer on your mobile phone and to catch-up, stream and download your favourite BBC programmes on demand for up to seven days after broadcast.
Of course, it was possible to get it to work before but official support for oldie but still very popular Nokia device is a really nice move from BBC and Nokia.
Just came across the BBC iPlayer website on my N95 expected to see the unsupported page.... kerching!!!
The download link popped up right in front of me. I can now watch all the catch up and LIVE BBC shows!!
Just type the link in your mobile and give it a try (potentially more phones are supported): http://www.bbc.co.uk/mobile/iplayer Only available in the UK.
The S60 version of the BBC iPlayer allows UK audiences to download and stream BBC TV programming but only over the Wi-Fi connection for now although it was promised that player will be 3G and the Wi-Fi compatible!
Application is available
