Nokia Gets FCC Approval
For North American 3G Variant of Nokia N97!
According to documents that just appeared on the US Federal Communications Commission's Web site, Nokia has received regulatory approval to start selling North American 3G friendly version of its highly anticipiated S60 touchscreen phone in the Unatied States!
Such approval is required before a wireless device can be sold to consumers in the United States and if nothing else FCC approval indicates that phone could come to US consumers even sooner than expected!
NAM variant of the N97 is optimized for a high-speed 3G and 3.5G US (UMTS and HSDPA) networks but it also comes with support for European 3G networks (2100 MHz) which makes it a perfect choice for a frequent
travellers
and so called power users.
Same as recently approved European version, it is not quite clear if phone is captured under the weird light conditions or Nokia will really try to appeal to the female consumer by splashing pink paint all over the Nokia N97.

Anyway, the FCC pages reveals nothing new about this highly anticipated Nokia device beside the beside the new colour scheme, semi attractive internal and external photos, as well as the draft version of the user manual in pdf format.
