Krusell's TOP-10
Handset Sales Chart for April
The Swedish manufacturer of carrying cases for portable electronics, Krusell, has released their "Top 10"-list for the last month.
As usually, the list is based on number of pieces of model specific mobile and smart phone cases ordered from Krusell during March 2009. Krusell's list is unique due to the fact that it reflects the sales of phones on six continents and in more than 50 countries around the globe.
Nokia’ first mass-market full touchscreen device showed an impressive rise in this month's ranking which again proves a strong demand for touch screen devices but despite market's growing need for touch devices Apple’s iPhone obviously losing its touch with consumers and is again pushed out of Krusell's top 10 list!
Nokia 5800 XM is now at number three from eight place last month, while Windows mobile based Samsung’s Omnia had an inverse fate, falling to second place from the summit last month.
On Krusell’s Top 10 list for April, six out of ten phones are Nokia. At the moment Nokia is a very strong brand in many markets, says Ulf Sandberg MD at Krusell. Though it is rather surprising a pretty simple handset as the Nokia 3109 takes the no. 1 position this month.
We all know that most people who buy a smart phone or a more expensive device prefer to protect it with a case. Now also phones in the lower price range frequently shows up on our list. This is encouraging for us, but I am still a bit surprised, Mr Sandberg ends.
It is also interesting to see that two Sony Ericsson devices have pushed their way into the top 10 list again, which puts Japanese-Swedish joint venture on the 2nd place before the Samsung and HTC that are represented with only one device but still far behind the Nokia that clearly leads with amazing 6 device on the Krusell's including the Nokia 3109 on the first position!
