Nokia Gets FCC Approval
For Euro(?) Variant Of The Nokia N86 8MP

Nokia N86According to documents that appeared on the US Federal Communications Commission's Web site, Nokia has received regulatory approval to start selling Nokia N86, company's latest photography related S60 device released back in February and awarded with prestigious TIPA Award as the 'Best Mobile Imaging Device in Europe 2009'

Such approval is required before a wireless device can be sold to consumers in the United States and if nothing else FCC approval is always a good sign that phone is on the way and indicates that it will be released for US markets soon.

As usually, FCC pages reveals nothing that we already don't know about Nokia N86, nothing except the semi attractive internal and external photos, as well as the draft version of the user manual.

Just in case any of you missed is announcement, The new Nokia N86 8MP, with an f/2.8 Zeiss wide-angle zoom lens and an 8MP sensor, represents a new step forward in that specific segment. The device sports centre weighted exposure, 1/1000 sec.

shutter speed, multimode flash and several scene modes with macro down to 10cm, not to mention advanced communication and location technologies. When Nokia set out to make the best mobile imaging device, it combined wide-angle Carl Zeiss optics and an 8 megapixel sensor, resulting in performance comparable to a stand alone digital camera.

The aperture of the Nokia N86 8MP is comparable to that of a high-quality, stand-alone digital camera. Whether it's running with the bulls in Pamplona or capturing the panoramic beauty of a sunrise over Sydney, the Nokia N86 8MP will take brilliantly clear, wide-angle images that are instantly geotagged to be uploaded onto sites like Ovi Share or Flickr.

The Nokia N86 8MP is expected to begin shipping in the second quarter of 2009 with an estimated retail price of EUR 375, before taxes and subsidies.
