It's easy to publish to Ovi
With a 70% Percent Revenue Share!
Last month at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, Nokia announced the new publishing to Ovi solution for developers, a self-service publishing tool that provides developers with an easy way to distribute and monetise their applications and content to millions of consumers using Nokia devices around the world via the new Ovi Store.
With a 70% revenue share*, all of the applications and content distributed through the new Ovi Store will create instant revenue opportunities for the developers involved.
For developers who are working on content and applications for the Ovi Store, accepted media types include: Java, Symbian, and Flash Lite applications; Web Runtime (WRT) widgets; ring tones; themes; and videos. Content categories include: entertainment, social networking, productivity, gaming, news and information, and others.
At the time of launch in early May, the Ovi Store is expected to be available to tens of millions of Nokia devices globally, and it will be localised in nine countries on supported Nokia devices. The service is expected to reach an estimated 300 million consumers by 2012, making it the world's largest media network.
When the Ovi Store launches, more than 60 Nokia devices will be supported. The Nokia N97 multimedia device will be the first device to have Ovi Store pre-installed when it is released in June. All future S60 and Series 40 devices will have the Ovi Store pre-installed, too.
Starting this week developers who have already signed up for the publishing to Ovi service will start to be notified via e-mail about how to register as publishers to Ovi and upload their content to the Ovi Store.
Dedicated and comprehensive resources and support from Forum Nokia are available to help developers get their applications ready for commercial distribution through the Ovi Store.
