Problem
With
US 3G Friendly Nokia 5800
Is Software Issue Not a Hardware Malfunction!?
As you may have already know, just a few days after official launch in the U.S., Nokia 5800 XpressMusic has been yanked from the Nokia's flagship stores mainly due the problems with accessing AT&T's 3G network.
Nokia said, it is a very isolated problem concerning only the North American market and is not specific to any other region or country and that they are investigating the issue.
Fortunately, Mark Guim from the Nokia Blog is claiming that Nokia had already addressed this annoying issue and it seems that problem is fixable with the simple firmware update that is supposed to be available soon and preloaded on all NAM models of the Nokia 5800 XM.
Of course, existing customers of the 5800 XpressMusic NAM with the firmware version v11, who experience 3G signal issue will be able to update their devices through the Nokia software updater once when the new software will be released and in case of any further problems advised to contact Nokia Customer Care.
This is still nothing but rumour but apparently, there is a pretty good chance that this quite an annoying problem with the North American version of the Nokia 5800 is a software issue, not a hardware malfunction which is great news for the Nokia fans from US and it basically means that 5800 NAM should be available again shortly!
