Minor Firmware Update
For Nokia 5800 XM Available On NSU!
This is just a quick heads up, mostly a curiosity for those of you who haven't seen post about new firmware update (11.0.008 to 11.0.009) for Nokia 5800 at our forum section.
In short, our RS77 reported yesterday that Nokia has rolled out a minor software upgrade for the Nokia 5800. Software is now available in version through the Nokia Software Updater for most of the generic product codes from EMEA region.
As usually, software should be progressively available at the Nokia service points, so even in case you have slow dial-up internet connection you be able to get new firmware at official Nokia service points.
Unfortunately it is not available as FOTA update which is by the way the best possible way of delivering such a small software updates and it is kind strange why Nokia not offering this update over the air.
There are no visible changes but as you would imagine, the firmware update is always recommended because it usually improves the performance and reliability! There is no reliable change log (only tip about Prioritised calls fix) but our Declan Shortall claims that “Phone seems a little more snappy” and confirms that “the new HelloOX 1.02 hack still works”.
Oh yes, one more thing, Nokia 5800 has the UDP but it is anyway highly suggestible to back up your phone memory before performing a firmware update as precaution measure in case something goes wrong.
