US 3G Variant Of Nokia 5800
To Hit North American Markets Soon!
Almost a year since device was initially leaked here on Symbian Freak and nearly 4 months since the phone was officially introduced by Nokia on the big event in London, Nokia 5800 NAM will be finally and officially available for Nokia fans in North America around February 26th with the suggested price of $399 USD!
North American 3G friendly version of the Nokia 5800 is the Quad-band phone compatible with 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 frequencies and US 3G compatibility, or to be precise with support for the AT&T’s WCDMA 850/1900 HSDPA network.
It's also important to say that I recently I came in possession of some confidential Nokia documents, which clearly show that NAM version of Nokia 5800 (RM-428) will be available in black colour only while the European’s RM-356 will be available in two inbox colours: red and blue?!
Nokia and Symbian are huge everywhere besides North America, S60 powered line of phones dominates the global Smartphone market but unfortunately both, Symbian and Nokia still have a low penetration in the US and the main question is will company's first mass market touch screen device helps to increase market share in North America? What are your thoughts?
