Sccope has launched a widget for
Vodafone handsets running Symbian S60
Cogenta has today announced that it has launched a new widget which will be preloaded onto a selected range of Vodafone handsets featuring Symbian S60.
Sccope searches and compiles the lowest possible prices available for an extensive array of products including consumer electronics, CDs and DVDs, console and PC games, books and children’s toys from top retailers including Amazon, John Lewis, Waterstone’s, Currys, Dixons, Tesco Direct and Borders.
Sccope’s innovative back-office system means that information is updated quickly and efficiently as and when prices and stock details are altered.
Sccope.com has been designed so that new categories of products can be added to accommodate changes in consumer demand, enabling consumers to get the latest prices and deals as they shop.
Sccope will be fully integrated into Vodafone’s top five widget-enabled smart phones including the Nokia 6124, 6210, N95 8GB, N96 and N78 to allow users to be able to compare prices on their shopping wherever they are. The application on Vodafone handsets means that users will simply click on the Sccope icon on their handset to launch the application, enter in the product they are interested in, and Sccope will immediately return the best deals available from the top retailers.
Douglas Orr, CEO at Cogenta explains: "Sccope is one of those rare applications that simply makes sense for people on the move. Integrating Sccope direct onto Vodafone’s smart phones means that comparing prices and making sure you’re getting the best high street deal is truly at consumer’s fingertips."
The embedded application complements Sccope’s existing text based service where any mobile phone user can check the latest prices by simply texting 62555 with their product enquiry. Sccope’s price comparison service then sends a reply text with the best available prices
