+ New Firmware Update For Nokia 5800 is on the way!

24 December 2008

Nokia 5800 To Gets Update
Unconfirmed Change Log Is In The House!

Nokia 5800Well, to be completely honest with you Nokia 5800 is one of the buggiest phones that I have ever tested and it is not really a surprise that Nokia is working on the quick update for their first touchscreen device.

OK, I understand that developing a new platform and first S60 touch device presents a significant challenge for Nokia. Increasing demands for better and intuitive user interface coupled with growing competition has put Nokia in the uncomfortable position of having to choose between quality and aggressive time to market goals and I’m afraid they chose to trade off quality to meet aggressive schedules for new products which is totally wrong way if you ask me!

Anyway, the change log that I got earlier this morning is not from my usual source so I can’t say how reliable is this information but some of the most annoying issue that I discovered so far aren’t listed there so hopefully this is not a final change log.

I also tried to reach some of my insider moles but Christmas is just around the corner and it is hard to reach anybody, everyone seems to be in a hurry these days and unfortunately I can’t give you anything more but the change log listed below.

The software is not available on the Nokia Software Updater and is not available at Nokia Service Points (confirmed 100%) so this is more like internal tester’s log.

Oh yes, thanks to 'anonymous' tipster ;)
