All Epocware's Applications Redesigned
For
Efficient Work On S60 5th Edition Devices
Introduction and launch of the new S60 Touch UI gives the application developers an exciting challenge to bring the mobile user experience to the next level by redesign user interface and optimizing applications for touch controls.
Epocware's developers really "jump started" work on process of porting their applications to 5th edition, and I am happy to announce they just released the full-feature software support for the latest Nokia's Smartphones based on the S60 5th Edition.
Epocware's programs and services now fully support the redesigned interface of the touch screen devices, highly anticipated Nokia 5800 and forthcoming Nokia N97.
All Epocware's programs – from the utility applications, such as Handy Shell, Handy Safe, Handy Weather, Handy Calendar to the SlovoEd's more than 120 monolingual and bilingual dictionaries were tailor-made for Nokia 5800 and Nokia N97, keeping in mind all special characteristics and unique features of the touch screen devices.
I’ve tested most of these applications today and I have to admit that it looks and works well, user interface is pretty simple, intuitive and easy to use and because I think, they made a good job although there is still plenty of room for further improvements and optimization.
The top bar with tabs is really hard to control by finger, especially if you have big male thumbs and even with stylus it is not easy task. However this is great news and I just hope that that more developers will follow the Epocware's example!!
