AT&T to offer low-priced
Symbian based
Pantech phone for just $49!
At a press event on Friday, AT&T and Pantech revealed the first details about the C630 candybar 3G phone!!
The phone was first revealed via FCC documentation, but AT&T spokesperson went further and reveal more details about the features, availability, price and the platform!
Speaking with BetaNews, Frank Fay, a company spokesperson said that Pantech's C630 will be powered with the Symbian OS without any further details about the platform that will run on top of it.
However, thanks to the screenshots revealed in the FCC's documentations it is obviously not Nokia S60 neither the UIQ or NTT DoCoMo MOPA platform so I guess that Pantech will come out with the new sort of the User Interface and the completely new platform based on the Symbian OS.
Pantech C630, is a typical low-priced Smartphone that AT&T will sell to customers for use on its 3G network starting in December for just $49 on contract!!!
It is a candybar phone witha 1.3 megapixel camera, 1.76" (176*220 ) display a speakerphone, Bluetooth, an MP3 music player, a microSD slot, Internet Yellow Pages, e-mail, instant messaging, and AT&T's Video Exchange and Video Sharing.
