+ Nokia 5800: Some Good and Some Not-So-Good News!!!

18 November 2008

Nokia 5800 Gets Support Pages
Definitely Will Not Be As Cheap As Expected

Nokia 5800 Demos I have some good news and some not so good news for all the 5800 freaks out there and I’ll start with the good news!

My friend Roman from the S60inside (a German S60 related blog) has found that one of the hottest Nokia S60 phones is 'supported' now!

This basically means that long awaited first Nokia S60 full touch screen phone is one step closer to hit the shelves and that Nokia is going to ship it within the next couple of weeks!!

As usually support pages include detailed specifications, Interactive Demonstrations, PC and phone software, useful tips and tricks and of course, very attractive, full final version od the user manual.

Now for some not so good news. Apparently I have right about the final price tag of the Nokia 5800 and unfortunately it definitely not going to as cheap as we thought and as it was listed on the big Nokia slide on the launch event in London!

Phone is now listed on Nokia Italia Pages and available for pre-order and the price is exactly the same as in Spain, Finland and Russia, 429 € and I guess this is the final confirmation that you’ll need more than 400 EUROS to get it, so better start collecting money right now!!!

I know that overall it isn't that big of a deal but the final price is so very utterly frustrating and annoying but I can’t resist to say once again, shame on you Nokia! Nokia has promised a price of just 279 Euros (without taxes) and with all possible taxes imposed it can hardly goes over the 350 euros and therefore price of 429 euros is simply UNACCEPTABLE!!
