Nokia Email Service
BETA 3.0 Is Ready For Testing!
No, no, it's not out of beta yet but I’m pleased to announce that the third public beta of Nokia Email Service is now available for testing. They are rolling out this update throughout the day so depending on your region; you may not see the new site yet.
However it’s expected to be totally online with the new site & client globally 12 hours from now, if we can believe to Davis Fields from Nokia Email Team.
So no matter, if you are a regular user or you are just going to try it, here is the great opportunity to help them to make the next release the best ever!
Nokia Email BETA 3 release is made available mainly to allow a broad user base to test and evaluate at least two significant improvements, better mailbox management and now true synchronization so that everything stays the way it should be! No more randomly re-appearing emails you’re sure you deleted.
The most immediately visible change is the addition of support for multiple email addresses so alternate personal emails, or the address you use for newsletters etc can live side by side on your device.
Also, as I informed you yesterday, it has a wider devices support and more localization options. Last but not the least, the beta stage of trialing Nokia Email Service is totally free for anyone who wants to use it and anyone using the software will be emailed when this period comes to an end.
-
Localization. We’re now localized into six different languages, including full support for international characters, which has been a very popular request from our beta testers from all around the world. This release localized in English, Finnish, German, Dutch, Latin American Spanish and Iberian Spanish.
-
More email addresses. Now Nokia Email lets you get mail from up to 6 email addresses, each in its own mailbox yet all in one place, and makes composing from any account seamless.
-
More phones. Nokia Email service is available on more of the most popular Nokia S60 devices, including many of the latest S60 3.2 devices like the N96 and the N78.
-
Better mailbox management. When you delete an email on your Nokia phone, it will be deleted from your email account. We’ve enabled this for both IMAP and POP accounts.
The setup is currently not working correctly for Google Apps and similarly hosted domains (where the email address domain is different than the mail server domains). They are aware of this issue and are working diligently to implement those accounts in future releases.
