Nokia Says No Plan To Switch
Its Smartphones to Android Platform
Most of the online tech bloggers have been cranking up the rumor mill over whether Nokia is bolstering its own Android development efforts as well.
Actually analysts have been speculating on for a couple of months now about Linux OS based Nokia phones and even about Nokia plans to merge Symbian and its S60 platform with Google's Android to provide single open source OS!
The Finnish mobile phone giant ended months and months of the non-stop speculations and declined comment yesterday on its Android efforts. "We are very happy with the Symbian platform," a Nokia spokesperson told to the folks over at InternetNews.com.
I guess that's not to say it won't do Android phone in the future, but it certainly wouldn't seem to be in the company's current thinking and they'll not release the Linux or Android powered phone anytime soon!
He said they have no plans to use Android as a platform for their mobile phones and that company will provide more details today on the Nokia Remix event in London, where they'll debuts the Tube, Nokia's first S60 full touchscreen smartphone and announce some big news that looks set to mash up the world of mobile music!??
