Nokia N78 NAM Has The Fully
Functional FM Transmitter Hidden Inside!!
FM transmitter is probably one of the most exciting features of the Nokia N78 but unfortunately this handy feature is not available world-wide, as we have already pointed out!!!
Anyway, I'm one of the "lucky" ones who lives in a country who ban the FM transmitter in the Nokia N78, in my case the Nokia N78-3 (NAM).
Searching in posts i saw that people bet that flashing the banned N78 with a different product code the FM transmitter would emerge, that was doubtful because others says that nokia won't include a transmitter as dead weight hardware, but it's worth it to try!
So.. first i hardly found an Nokia N78-3 (N78 NAM) generic product code on Goggle and then I debranded the phone with an assistance of the Nemises Nokia Service Suite and the Nokia Software Updater.
After the successful flashing, the phone boot and I saw the FM transmitter in the menu but I couldn't get it to work in first instance but then I reboot the phone once again and the transmitter began to work correctly!!!!
So if you are going to buy Nokia N78 and you are interesting in transmitter functionality better check twice the law in you country and be sure that FM transmitter is included. So far it is confirmed that FM transmitter is excluded in France, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Ireland and Italy!
Fortunately it is just a software restriction which is simply fixable by changing the product code via NSS and flashing phone to some of the generic codes with enabled FM transmitter!?
Last but not the least, you should keep in mind that it may be illegal in your country so if you enable this feature via NNS and see a cop car, better be ready to throw up your phone through the window ROLF :]
