Gearing up for Nokia Open Lab in Helsinki!
Just in case you don't already know, Thursday morning I'll be flying out to Helsinki and I really can't describe properly how I'm feeling right now as the day draws closer, it's a combination of excitement and anxiety.
It seems like not enough time is left to properly prepare and pack, you know, you can't wait for the day but at the same time, you somehow feel you need a bit more time before it comes. Am I too much of a workaholic or this is normal :]
OK, OK, I know, it's a little excessive, but what can I do, it is the trip to Nokia homeland, I've been invited to attend on the first Nokia's annual workshop that will be taking place between the 11th and 14th, in Helsinki and it's a great honor for me to have been asked to come and join in for three days.
Unfortunately it will be hard to update a blog on a regular basis in upcoming days but I’ll try to be active on the forum section as much as possible and truly hope that deep in your hearts you can find the strength to forgive me a few days of inactivity ;)
I will be covering the event and keeping you updated about the latest happenings, so be sure to keep it right here to read my insider reports, see some photos before as well as shortly after the event.
Anyway, this is a brand new event, the first of its kind to be hosted by Nokia! There will be a number of workshops that'll see discussion with participants and with Nokia guys about the future of different online arenas and mobile technology.
Nokia Open Lab, held in Helsinki, is an event with the aim of provoking global discussion on a mobile future. The event is the first of its kind hosted by Nokia, where an invited set of social media participants from bloggers to forum members and everyone in between will be taking part in workshops that will focus on the future of mobile and co-creation of media.
The event's benchmarks of learning for both the attendees and Nokia include how social interactions and technological interactivity affect us. The workshops will also focus on issues such as how everyone will utilize these new technologies and how the most benefit for all will come about.
In the spirit of the event, non-attendees will be able to freely participate through online tools that will be available on the website prior, and via the virtual event that will be taking place simultaneously on the days of the event. So feel free to join in, and help us all learn more on what the future of mobile should really be.
