Digia @Web for UIQ 3
New Beta available for download!

finger touch web browser for UIQ There’s been a lot of bad news lately for UIQ fans mainly caused by the Nokia plans to raises the stake in Symbian and merge UIQ and MOAP(S) software with their S60 platform.

So although future doesn’t look bright, I have some good news for all UIQ owners, the latest beta of Digia @web is available for download from Digia’s suppot page.

As you may have already know, Digia @web browser is designed for UIQ 3 platform and provides user oriented mobile browsing experience. It is first and only fully finger touch controllable web browser for UIQ based mobile phones

Browser is based on the open source webkit browser engine ported to UIQ by Digia, and a whole new browser UI that gives powerful and intuitive access to true web content.

Just released version brings lot of improvements and if you are involved in beta testing you should get it as soon as possible. Here’s the change log (which some of them are requested features from beta users):

  • Accelerated panning
  • Progress indicator
  • Address bar is shown during the page loading
  • Scrolling with wheel keeps horizontal position
  • Select URL using double tap
  • Audio plug-in for WAV, MP3 and Midi
  • Favicons for Bookmarks
