Nokia Looking To Port Ngage Games
To Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network
Stuart Dredge from PocketGamer reports that Nokia is serious about cross-platform games concept and wants to target gamers beyond its N-Gage platform.
More specifically, Finnish mobile phone giant, who holds approximately a third of the world's mobile market share, wants to port their N-Gage games to Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network as well!?
At least, that's what said Aki Jarvilehto, Nokia’s Global Head of Business Development and Innovation during a panel session at Develop Mobile 2008 conference in Brighton.
His exact words were that Nokia is looking into concepts "where we use the same assets for Xbox Live Arcade or PlayStation Online". That's referring to the same assets used for N-Gage games.
This is definitely not an unexpected direction for Finnish ginat, especially considering that Nokia, and Finnish developers RedLynx, have spent the last two and a half years on Reset Generation, an unfairly addictive action-puzzle title which is both cross-platform and multi-platform; and I guess this is just a first step in moving the 'Gage idea to other online gaming platforms!?
