Nokia Completes Plazes Acquisition

Nokia announced yesterday that it has completed its acquisition of Plazes (www.plazes.com), a privately-owned start-up company of 13 people with its principal operations in Berlin. The deal was initially announced on June 23, 2008.
By acquiring Plazes, Nokia will be able to extend its context-based service offering with social presence and time-based activity planning features.

Nokia earlier this month had announced that it has completed its acquisition of NAVTEQ, a provider of comprehensive digital map information, company officials say.
As part of Nokia, NAVTEQ will continue to develop its world-class expertise in the navigation industry, service its strong customer base, and invest in the further development of its industry-leading map data and technology platform, company officials say.
