World's First Commercially Available
Cell Phone with Built-in Projector

For a years we've been promised micro-projectors with the size of a matchbox and even a sugar cube that will liberate visual content from the tiny screens of our mobile devices.

Unfortunately none have materialized it onto the market although all major brands intensively working on projector equipped phones lately.

Samsung projector phone with 3M’s ultra-compact, LED illuminated projection engins is expected to hit the market later this year and it is supposed to be world’s first phone equipped with mini projector system but apparently it is not the case!

The very first mobile phone with built in projector has been made into a reality by a Chinese company named CKING and I am not surprised at all. It was showcased just recently at the IMIE2008 which took place in China.

The device is in a candy bar form factor and features the bulky projector on the top of the phone. Unfortunately I can’t find any further info about projecting technology, resolution, brightness or energy consumption, so for now, just enjoy the pics.
