+ First Nokia E71's & E66's commercial hits airwaves

19 June 2008

The Very first Nokia E71 & E66 TV commercial!
Close Your Laptop But Stay Connected!

Most of you already know that I am not exactly a big fan of Eseries phones, not at all, but I can’t deny that I am very impressed with latest addition in Eseries family, with E71 especially, although phone isn’t perfect and is not for freaks like us and can’t replace my current Nseries device, speaking about almost two years old Nokia N95!

There are few good things that have caught my eyes, first of all it is the size and build quality. It is really nice to see that Nokia is using the glossy metal and high quality materials after the years and years of forcing the cheap ugly painted plastic, this is definitely step in the right direction!

The size is surprising as well, Nokia E71 is one of the thinnest smartphones we've have ever get from Nokia; phone is thinner than the Kate Moss and pretty as a supermodel.

Although it is only 10mm thick there is still enough room to put quite impressive 1500 mAh battery and bunch of other features like HSDPA, GPS, Wi-Fi which makes it one of the best equipped business phones at the moment.

It is also nice to see that Nokia is extending the imaging capabilities of Eseries family by adding the decent 3.2 megapixel autofocus cameras, there is no Carl Zeiss optic or Xenon flash but this is still more than welcome improvement.

However, we are not living in a perfect world and there are no perfect phones, unfortunately Nokia E71 is equipped with outdated QVGA screen which is the probably main disadvantage of this cute business phone! Nokia N95 is definitely my last QVGA phone and because I just don’t want to strain my eyes with QVGA resolution anymore.

Beside the screen phone also lacks the accelerometer, OK I now, it’s the portrait screen and it is not meant to be rotated but there are bunch of handy applications and cool games out there that intensively using accelerometer technology and therefore I am truly disappointed with decision to include it in E66 but at the same time exclude it from E71!?????

All in all that’s it, E66 is basically the same phone packed into different phone factor so I am not going to elaborate it in details, it is matter oif taste and needs. If you are QWERTY type than get the E71 but if you prefer the t9 input and slider form factor better get the E66

Anyway, here are the very first commercials of the latest additions in the Eseries family, enjoy.
