According to documents that appeared on the US Federal Communications Commission's Web site Sony Ericsson has received regulatory approval to start selling its G702 Smartphone, recetly leaked as the BeiBei.
As usually, the FCC pages shows nothing new, just confirms already very well known fact about this cute UIQ phone, with the suprising small Users Guide (draft version) as well as external and internal test report photos.
Such approval is required before a wireless device can be sold to consumers in
the United States and if nothing else FCC approval is always a good sign that phone is on the way and indicates that it will be released for US markets soon.
Speaking of the BeiBei, it going to be the classic SE Symbina phone with a touchscreen ineterface powered byx the latest version of UIQ platform (3.3). By the hardware specifications it falls into midrange segment although it featuers the respecatible list of featuers inclouding 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3,2 MPX camera.
What is the most intrensting for me is the main navigation key laout with a domintaing three way jog wheel supported with teh two side scroling keys.

There is an also dedicated m,essiging key and quite intrensig widget button!? I guess it means that we can expect full WRT support as well as Flash Lite 3 that will be incomporated thrugh the preinstalled Opera Mobile version 9.5.
That's basically all I have to say about, oh yes one more thing. It seems that G702 shares the same data port solution as the recently leaked flagship UIQ phone that should be available soon. I am talking about quite weird data connection port on the left side of the phone that remains on the universal connecting port on the prehistoric Ericsson phone and leaves this cute creature without USB port which is defacto standard now?
