Major firmware update for Nokia N81
is on the way?
Nokia N81 is phone that hasn't been updated in quite awhile, sure situation isn’t that serious as with Nokia N95-3, which has been totally forgotten by Nokia.
North America users still waiting for the long awaited update and it is really shameless that Nokia still didn’t update its flag ship product, especially considering that there is a quite annoying problem with accelerometer based applications which are developed in Python. Nokia should not of released a NAM Nokia N95 US if they did not have any intention of support it.
Anyway, speaking about the Nokia N81, P@sco has found a interesting photo that shows Nokia N81 that is running firmware version 20.0.034 dated 30.01.2008 which basically means that it is just an older software version for the beta testers, but at the same time it is obvious that Nokia are working hard on the N81 update and it is going to be a massive jump (current version is 11.0.045) that will hopefully bring Flash Lite 3 and WRT (Web Run Time Widgets) support.
Sure, there is no word when it is going to be available for the users and what improvements we can expect, i will check my sources and see if I can get the change log but don’t expect miracles because I just can get the log until the firmware reaches the final phase.
That’s all for now, will keep you informed on this.. .
