Castrated Nokia N78 US version appeared on FCC!
I’ve just found over Engadget mobile that Nokia N78 appears on the FFC with all possible documentation as well as with internal photos, surprisingly early for a phone which was announced a few weeks ago at the WMC in Barcelona.
Not a breaking news I know but there is something really interesting about this piece of hardware. It reveals two different versions of the Nokia N78, RM-236 and RM-235 and I guess that one is European version while other one is castrated US version.
Quote: "The difference between RM-236 and RM-235 is that RM-236 has had WCDMA900, WCDMA2100 and WLAN2450 components removed."
In other words, it seems that Nokia will release the special Nokia N78 for North American markets that lacks support for American 3G frequencies and has no Wi-Fi?!? I can even understand it lacks the 3G but removing the Wi-Fi is ridiculous, it is out of mind?!?
