Sony Ericsson Patent Phone Concept
With Detachable Display?
What is the most important invention in the past two thousand years the question is now?
Well I am afraid that I have no right answer but I know that this strange SE concept phone will not be nominated for this complimentary award.
Actually the main point of this article is the Unwiredview’s reports on the Sony Ericsson patent for a mobile phone with a detachable screen.
As described in a patent application called “Detachable Housings for a Wireless Communication Device “, it is the classic clamshell phone mobile phone with the top part based on the LEGO system with detachable screen?
Although it is interesting idea I just cannot see what’s the point of all this? I know, instead of screen, unit could hold another part like camera and on that way we can transform phone into device that we need and want to use at the time.
Sounds good but it means that we’ll have to carry numerous detachable parts altogether with a phone, units like camera, GPS maybe and it doesn’t sounds that good in my personal opinion. I’ll rather take my digital cam, with me than the accessory that can transform my phone in the camera with the questionable quality? The recently announced Samsung’s patent about swappable keyboards is way better idea.
From other hand, maybe it has completely different functionality, to swap screen out for example, or to change the user interface from the classic to touch or maybe just to detach the screen to prevent the possible damage? You see, if you are going to some good party and you know that you’ll get drunk you can leave the screen at home as precaution measure :o]
I would like to hear your thoughts on this, any idea?
