+ Never Enough: 16GB MicroSDHC cards are on the way!

23 February 2008

How Much Is Enough?
SanDisk's 16GB MicroSDHC cards
on the way and confiremd as compatible!

16GB microSDHC Card

John from the Telefon-Treff, pretty popular German forum confirmed that 16GB SanDisk cards are on the corner and that they are fully compatible with Nokia FP1 and FP2 devices as we have expected after all.

This is truly amazing, almost crazy; 16GB card represents a 100 percent boost in card capacity from the currently largest worldwide available microSDHC cards!

Try, just try, to imagine Nokia N96’s build in flash memory extended with this card? It will be memory monster with 32GB of the storage space!

I am sitting front of my computer screen and ask myself how much is enough, how much memory I really need in order to be satisfied? Have you ever tried to ask yourself how much is enough, I ma really curious about your opinions?

I know, it’s hard to say really, the new Smartphones are equipped with lot of storage intensive features that include music players, video players, digital cameras, video and sound recorders, GPS maps, games and various different software.

All these features requires the faster and larger flash memory with a higher storage density and I am afraid that even 16GB cards will not be capable to respond to the growing market demands for the larger storage memory. I believe that very soon we’ll not be satisfied even with the 32GB cards and it means that we’ll need a new SD standard again :]
