Minor firmware update for Nokia N82
has been released (MCU SW v11.0.117)

User Data PreservationFew days ago I briefly informed you that Nokia N82 is the first S60 phone that features User Data Preservation and fixes the most annoying problem and the most common complaints about updating a devices firmware via the Nokia Software Updater.

Unfortunately I made mistake, not a terrible mistake by the way, User Data Preservation is there but anyway I feel obligation towards you and I just have to deny myself although mistake is more related to Kevin from the Nokia S60 Multimedia Blog.

To sum up, Nokia N82 is not the first Nokia phone with this features and thanks to the our devoted forum members we now know that there are bunch of S60 phones out there with UDP implemented, Nokia N81 for example and even oldie 3250.

Anyway, if you are one of those lucky Nokia N82 owners permit mi to briefly inform you that Nokia has released the new firmware version for the Nokia N82 and that you can finally test the User Data Preservation. Sure, although it is confirmed that Nokia N82 has the UDP it is highly suggestible to back up your phone memory before performing a firmware update as precaution measure in case something goes wrong.

Firmware v11.0.117 is already available and supported via the NSU for certain product codes and will be available progressively at the official Nokia Points and Nokia Service Points in the next few days.

I also managed to find the short change log, probably the shortest one that I have seen so far and it really looks like minor update. Will try to find something more about but can't promise anything but if you know something more about please join the discussion and tell us what you think about!?!!
